Default Is ther a way to save a default load out?

Kaluens,

every time I start a mission, I have to change all of the torpedos from the crappy bubble makers, to the new ones. Is there something that I missed available to help me with a default loadout?

Thanks all,

/S

I haven't looked into this; how each boat is equipped is determined in the SilentHunterIII/data/config files. You can make a JSGME setup to change the load-out and then install it into your setup.
I suspect the file to change is the basic.cfg file. The load=outs change with the years for each type of boat, so you probably don't have to change every year and boat.

I think you can also do this with the SH3CMDR config files, and this probably is easier.

First solution that came to my mind.

Use SH3Cmdr's "Static settings.cfg" file to store the default loadouts. You'll need to understand Basic.cfg first, but once done so, it's much easier to add your changes to SH3Cmdr and let it manage it all for you.

If you don't want to dig into your basic.cfg you can also try Wolfies Tweek Pack from the downloads section.

It allows you to adjust your torpedo layout for each year.

Edit: Can't find it in the downloads section. If I'll upload it to my FF page and subsim downloads for you.

JScones,
SH4 (and SH5) need this kind of program. I know you have no interest in a SH4CMDR (and probably SH5CMDR) but could you consider a stand alone program utilizing the Static settings.cfg files setup so we can modify the files in SH4.
SH5 is unplayable as it now stands; and will remain so without a SH5CMDR, IMHO.

In typical Jaesen fashion the code is very dynamic. In other words, it already works with SH4 and SH5 (in fact, for the few weeks I had SH4 running, I was playing around with this as well). In fact, practically all of SH3Cmdr could be ported over to SH4 pretty quickly. I never did it because a) someone else volunteered to do a "better" SH4Cmdr and b) while making it compatible with SH4 would be a snap, removing features no longer necessary and prettying it up would take time...time that I didn't have (remembering that SH4 upon first release was Fleetboats)...

WolfieTweek works really well. Make a backup of your Basic.cfg before using it, just in case.

Default Need a little help here

I recently repurchased Silent Hunter 3 on Steam, lost my orginal disk and it was only $10. Now What Im trying to do is get it all modded as before and where Im having the most trouble is Wolfie's tweekSub. I too find it tedious to manually swap out torps in dock so just to save time I found this handy tool, now it all used to work before (when I had the Disk) but is Wolfies Tweeksub compatable with a Steam Copy of the game? The Error message I get whenever I move the tweek files into the apporiate SH3 steam folder is: SH3 CFG File not found. "Silent Hunter III folder not correct, missing C:\Program Files(86)\ Steam\SteamApps\common\Silent hunter3.SH3.EXEdata\cfg\basic.cfg!" Other than this it runs great

I downloaded from Wreford-Brown's Filefront page the tweeksub.exe and no matter where I run in from it doesnt work. Anyways, Ive been staring at this all day looking for a simliar problem already posted but I havent seen. I did delete steams Clientregistry.blob file to see if it would perhaps fix the registry path but it didn't The only other thing Im running is the current version of SH3Commander, which I did uninstall and then try and work Wolfies tweek sub but to no avail. Anyways, I guess it is a small problem but I hate it when things dont work (Esp. if they did before) Any help, advice would be greatly apperciated!.
