Nvidia and the sun glare...

Hi,

Does anybody has an idea to solve my problem please?

I have a Nvidia geforce 8800 GT 512 Mo card, try drivers versions 196.75 and 196.21 but at each time I have the same problem: Sun glare doesn't work correctly. I just see a yellow ball in the sky... like this :

Instead of like this:

Pictures are from SH4. I have solve the problem by changing the nvidia control panel settings but this time it doesn't works...

Didnt this happen in SH4 with more than 4x AA?

A wild guess, disable Gamma correction..

That's all i can think of atm..

SH4 didn't do proper AA, it was some muddling work around. When you forced real AA through the driver control panel this is exactly the effect that was seen.

Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't it "AF" instead of "AA" I run 16XQ "AA" with no problems, but only 4x "AF".

Ships-R-Us, that sounds right. Anything other than AA off "1x" the problem should be there. It makes no sense for AA 4x to work but AA 8x to not work, for example.

I think Echlot is right, driver-AA might possible if gamma correction is turned off. It's been a while since I worried about this with SH4 but if memory serves it was a conflict between AA and gamma correction.

196.75 are bad drivers and been pulled by nvidia for overheating cards, ect...check the site, fairly sure they fried my card. Stick to the 21

) and will tell you even if I think I have already try this during all my trials...
Does someone (with a 8800gt) wich have the sun glare effect on, could tell me exactly wich setting are turn on / off in nvidia control panel please?...

Imho CAPTHELMS "lightning mod" is a small, very slight workaround for this issue.

Force AA in driver menu
Turn off Gamma Correction
Same as SHIII/4
