Default nHancer Tweaks

There was a great tip/thread for SHIV, I think by Neal, that detailed the settings to use with the nHancer tool--to reduce shimmering, and generally, improve quality and performance in SHIV. I'm currently using the same settings for SHV--but wondered if any changes might be necessary--any thoughts/tips?

alright, FINE, I did a rudimentary test myself with Fraps. Same exact scene--on the bow admiring the kiel canal. counted 10 seconds when mission finally loaded. In the following file you'll find a bunch of excel files, with titles. Chronologically notice the file save/modify date. Every subsequent file included the enhancements from the previous file.

Finally, there are three screenshots showing my final nHancer settings.

This is with everything maxed out in SHV options for graphics, at 1280 by 720 (native rez for my Optoma HD70 projector at 60hz).

Anyway--most settings caused a frame or two difference--except the option for "Super" transparency option. When I unselected that option, I pulled in an extra 8 or 9 FPS.

Good luck!

Thanks Brandytran..... I also found that if you lower the "AF" anisotropic settings down to 4 or 2, frame rate increases a lot.... The "supersampling" is mainly to improve visual quality whereas "multisampling" improves performance as you pointed out.........

I have a GeForce 9800GTX+ running the new driver. I never tried the Nhancer program for fear it would overclock and damage the card...

If anyone wants to tell of the advantages of Nhancer over the Nvidia control panel I would be greatful.

nHancer changes exactly the same values as Nvidia CP.

If nHancer messes something up, Nvidia CP would have as well.

Besides, if you make a mistake, revert the setting, done, fixed.
