Very interesting
But does it work only in higher zoom levels? (The file is quiet small) I would like to see a colour scheme that resembles more a real chart, with white instead of blue water. Any chance of doing that? (White to grey for different depths) Also please with FLAT earth, i.e. just one colour in light brown.

Hitman (or someone else) - do you know a precise colour for the flat earth? I'm looking at different Marinequadratkarte's, but they're poor scans so it's difficult to take a precise colour from them.

Experimenting with it, but the water looks quite odd. It is olc gui, so the colors in screenshot are slightly distorted.
Second thing - I think that the colors of water in kriegsmarine maps were inverted - the deep water was white, and shallow dark (?) |

You can try it yourself (jsgme-ready): http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4055585/Real%20map%20colour.rar Please help if you have some knowledge about those maps so we can make a realistic map for sh3. In this post you can find kriegsmarine maps: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show....php?p=1259825 And another site: http://www.kartengruppe.it/ --------------- If you wish to do it yourself the only file that you must edit is data/terrain/pal/Terrain.act There must be some simpler method to edit this file, but I do it by opening e.g. 4320_2160.raw in Photoshop, then Image>Mode>Grayscale, then Image>Mode>RGB Color, then Image>Mode>Indexed Color..., then in the window that opens Palette>Custom..., then Load and point to Terrain.act file - then in the same window you can edit the colors and save a new Terrain.act file. Thats it. One more thing - remember that you can make subtle changes to map colour by changing colours of StrTactMap.tga Last edited by verte; 03-08-10 at 08:18 AM. |

original maps of Oberkommando der Kriegsmarine
Hi sailormen!
I'm happy that a game makes you interested in maps of the WWII German Navy. I am a collector and this is my passion! Now, here a present for you (scanned from the original), directly from my site http://www.kartengruppe.it And have fun!! Pino PS: the first is Stiller Ozean but, if you are interessed, I'll change in the next days. Contact me and tell me what's your desiderata. Last edited by kartengruppe; 04-16-11 at 07:01 AM. |
