Personally, I believe it should be the junior enlisted who arrive first on the subs first and then work their way up the ranks, eventually making officer and chief. But there are a lot of other issues associated with that.

There are so many issues its hard to even begin to discuss them all. Just discussing them is difficult. Also don't forget if we go to battle and the men on board are not sure they're going to be alive at the end of the week everything changes.

Are we assuming that the women on board won't be facing the same thoughts of potential death in combat, or just that they'll handle it so much better that it won't be an issue?

Was watching 'Starship Troopers' last night and noticed a scene where men and women were taking communal showers together and no one even batted a eye.
I wonder if we'll ever get to that level of 'comfortable'.... |

Thought I'd share this on the topic, I believe General Schwarzkopfs' quote pretty much sums it up though.

I've heard the book is better. The movie is cheesy and over the top, but feeding the baby at 3am I needed some mindless action and it was the only thing on. |

Although it does have an interesting take on a co-ed warship, no fraternization if you put two MI troopers on guard duty at the entrince to the female quarters. Also the majority of the officers were female (naval officers that is since Starship Troopers takes place on troops ships, the infantry officers were mostly big dumb males). |
