Does this mean the download will be locked until the 3rd of March?

What gives you the impression you need to wait until 3rd of March?
The first screen doesn't mention such thing.

Aaaaahh that sucks.
But you are in a better position then I am.
I (voluntary) have to wait for the day to get the UBI chain removed (and that will take a while (I'm afraid).

Did you get to download the digital version yet?

What sort of files did you receive from there, can you install the game from these files or are the "activation key" somehow related to the install/setup?

Thanks for any answers you might provide.
