Hi all i dont post much here but read all the time but now I think I must,I didnt much like SH4 all that much more SH3 guy myself but UBI sent me a email today wanted me to preorder SHV . Now i have beed reading all of your posts here and have not said anything but after I bought ROF{ Rise of flight} 9 months ago or so my first game where you had to be online to play so far theres been 11 patches and new ver. this month wow very slow loading had to buy planes at 7.00 $ or so cause if you wanted to fly them you had to buy them now SHV seems to be doing the same thing Im not sure what to do now but in IMO if its like ROF I dont think I will go along with this but you guys and gals gave my great Info lets hope its not as bad as ROF thanks just had to get it off my chest I think it sucks and I think P.C sims are doomed lets hope not

I don't think there will be that many patches for SH5. I also don't think they will do the same 'buy an aircraft' model that ROF did. There may be add on packs though, but I should think they will be well down the line.

I think there may be many patches for SH5. Thats one of the benifits of OSP and their better *cough* "customer service". They will get reports of bugs and they will fix the bugs. get more reports of bugs and further down the road they will be fixed. This will continue until they decide that SH5 is not worth fixing anymore (not making money anymore).

Unlike before where we downloaded patches manualy (no point releasing small patches) but with OSP every time you log into your account. OSP will check for patches... So i think that you will see many patches ( build 1.112 etc.).

And im sure at somepoint they will release download content and addon packs for a price too. want a type IXX for $19.99 anyone?

OK this is just me guessing but i think its a high probability.

I have Far Cry 2...and excellent sandbox game. Each time I start the game it checks for patches. It's published by Ubisoft and I don't understand why they couldn't have used the same approach with SHV. I would buy Far Cry 3 if it does not have the same DRM SHV is coming out with.

I have heard alot of people say they want more subs added in an add-on. Fair enough.

Lets say 6 months after release they add 3 subs in an expansion, and the box costs $30. I bet there would be a general "WOOHOO" among those actually playing SHV (those who didn't buy it don't count, sorry ).

Now lets say you are the kind of guy who really only likes Type IIs.. we have a few people like that and I tend to be one of them (but I like VIIBs as well). Now you may say to yourself.. 3 subs.. $30. I only want one of them, why can't I pay just $10 for that one?

BTW, if you bought SHIV Uboats add on, divide that cost by the number of subs included and 1 patch (which was ONLY available through a purchase). You will then have a unit price for each of the items you bought in a bundled mico-transaction.

We have already been doing it for every game we have ever bought an add-on or expansion for, just under a different name.

Dear cooper01,

Edit your posts more please.

It doesn't make much sense.

What he was saying is that your posts are much easier to read if the whole thing isn't one long sentence.

I understood him perfectly, but perhaps that says something about me.

For the record, SH4 had an autopatching system... some people disabled it. Autopatching systems do not mean patches will spring forth from the loins of Ubi like confetti. SH4 had the same patch levels as SH3.
