Default SHVI anyone?

Well. with SHV just a week of release, I started to wonder what a SHVI would be like. I know that there a lot of issues to be discussed and solved, but imagine that SHV sells well, that DRM thing is solved for the better and they announce an expansion pack or even better, another sequel!

From the videos I saw, I would just love to walk around a fleet boat like they do on the U-Boats...

The title?
"SHVI: The Lord of Torps: To the East China Sea and back again..."

Well, that's way off in the future and being discussed in detail in the SH5 forum. As everyone knows the future looks clear...SH5 only covers until 43, so soon there will be a add on pack to buy to finish the war. Once sells from that die they will surely release Fleetboats. In reality it will be so simple to do, it should be an add on. I see a double dip in the future, first you buy the last years of the German war, then the Fleetboats will come out probably as a seperate game...Which is good and fine it the game goes well.

In fact, if they made the game as easy to mod as SH4, someone could do a Fleetboat mod. It will be interesting to see how DRM effects modding and what limits there are.

It will look like this:

Insert what you like.

Can never tell what the next game will look if until you see the sales figures on the previous game.

@ Armistead

Good points. I've never thought about the war going only up until 43'. If all goes well, people will be screaming for Type IX and XXI boats before anything else.
And, as you say, regarding a fleet boat mod, if it is open as the developers say, so all hope is not lost after all.

Well, by the SH schedule, the next release should be fleet boats.

SH1- Fleet boats
SH2- U-boats
SH3- U-boats
SH4- Fleet boats
SH4.5- U-boats
SH5- U-boats
SH6- should be fleet boats, followed by two more u-boats, before we see another fleet boat sim

@Armistead
I doubt it.
They not make late war addon, because it will be too hard for the actual target - kiddies, to survive. This is not longer game for adults, they change target.
Just like 1c Maddox Games between relases original il2 and forgotten batles.

I really hope to someday see fleet boats on a newer game. I just can't get into the U-boat thing like some others do. All other potential SH5 problems aside, I'm not too excited about it anyway for that very reason.

Well, if they do a Fleetboat version it'll only have the Gato. If they stick to the one sub class only thing that is....

All well and good, but you can't start in December 41 in one of those and go straight into the action.

So, if, and it's a big if (remember SH4 didn't sell as well as SHIII), they do Fleetboats again, your choices would possibly be very limited.

Mike.
