Anyone know if its possible to force DW to run in 1680x1050 resolution?

Well, to be more thorough, no. Apparently there is no way available. The only option is to use a 4:3 resolution (aspect ratio) with bars on the side or live with deformed objects.

My monitor will not work with DVI at this time, which make it nearly impossible to run the game in 4:3. My workaround was to change the color to 16 bit and run the game in "windowed mode". It'll still be enjoyable, but it sure would be nice to have widescreen capability.

Dangerous Waters will never have native widescreen support. Maybe you haven't noticed but SCS has stopped caring for this game. No more upgrades and/or patches since several years.

I played it yesterday in widescreen. I got tired of switching to 16bit color and decided to play as is, in widscreen. Really not a problem. Yes, the radar looks a little funny (oblong) but still funtions the same and using radar gives away our position, so we (I) rarely use the radar anyway.

Sub command is older version of DW. So no, it does not have widescreen support.
