Default Can't get rid of Real Fleet Boat mod

I installed the RFB mod shortly after I got the U-Boat expansion addon pack. Everything was working great, and it's a great mod, but I wanted to go back to the casual style of vanilla SH4. I did not use JSGME to install the mod, so the only way I knew how to go back to vanilla was to uninstall and reinstall the game.

So I completely uninstalled the game, deleted the directory and My Documents/SH4 folders, and reinstalled SH4 up to 1.4 (I have not reinstalled the U-boat addon pack yet).

The problem is that every time I try to play the game, the RFB loading screen appears, and the game shortly crashes there after. Basically, the game still thinks it has the mod installed when it doesn't. I can't seem to fix this, I've tried virtually everything short of formatting my hard drive.

If anyone who's had this problem before can help me, I'd be in your debt... I really just want to play Silent Hunter again :/

---------- Fixed ---------
Fixed the problem literally 2 minutes after posting this thread... just installed JSGME and then installed RFB mod after that, then activated and deactivated the mod. Everything seems good now.

Which RFB are you using.. AFAIK the latest is for Ver1.5 UBoat expansion.

Also install in another directory/folder, check for hidden files/folders in My Documents.

Yup, it's possible there are savegames stored in your 'my documents' folder which are making the issue

Moral of story children friends: ALWAYS use JSGME. Heck, even then you'll have to do reinstallation once in awhile if you change mods a lot like I do. My last stupid submarine trick was a sub with no crew. Top speed: zero knots!

If you're encountering the RFB load screen it isn't because of any saved game. You have mod soup, which means not all files were deleted. Your \my documents stuff won't make any difference at all unless you load up one of the RFB saved games, which should crash SH4.

when the game uninstalls it leaves ALL modded files there because they arent recognised, this includes the jsgme utility.

uninstall the game then locate your main sh4 folder in whatever directory you installed it to and manually delete it.

now your saved games are most likely all corrupted too by this point so open the documents folder and just delete that folder too.

reinstall the game, then install jsgme, then put your mods in jsgme and activate the ones you want
