DESCRIPTION:

This Paintkit is an addon to the Atlantic Theater Operations -
SHIV Uboat campaign. This Paintkit will give the player (you) the
ability to add tower emblems to your U-boat with a minimal
amount of muss n' fuss.

This Paintkit is not JSGME ready and requires basic knowledge of
a good graphics program. You may also need the nVidia DDS
plugin for Photoshop available at:
http://developer.nvidia.com/object/p...s_plugins.html

HOW TO:

Look for and open the folder named after the U-boat you are currently
operating. Open the psd file in your favorite graphics program. Open
the historic emblems psd file and find your desired emblem. Copy and
paste your desired emblem on the ship psd on top of the test emblem.
BE SURE TO TURN OFF OR DELETE THE LAYER WITH THE TEST EMBLEM!!!
Depending on the size and shape of the emblem you may wish to
resize it to taste. Finally, save your file as noted in the individual
instructions below.

COMPATIBILITY WITH OTHR'S EMBLEM MOD FOR OMEGU

Available at: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=157758

You can use the emblems included in "Historical Emblems.psd" in combination with Othr's Emblem mod if you wish. Simply copy the layer containing the emblem you wish to use to a blank 256x256 image with transparent background and save to \Data\Textures\TNormal\tex as either emblem.tga or emblem.dds. Depending on the size and shape of the emblem you may wish to resize it to taste.

Akula I dont mean to be a pain, But how the hell do ya get this to work???

I have photoshop and I can get the two TGA files open............the eblem and the hull. Im no too up to speed with photoshop and where to place the emblem on the Image for the hull is beyond me.

If you can help that would be great...........If not thanks anyways. I wil find a way.

Ego,
Inside the downloaded kit are PSD templates - in the bottom left corner of the template FOR YOUR SUB (the one you are using in your current career) is an example emblem just place yours on a new layer over the top of it - then turn off the example emblem layer and save as DDS. You may need the Nvidia DDS plugin to save.

Then make sure the DDS file is located in the right folder, start up SHIV and you are good to go! Hope this little guide helps... if you have a specific issue or problem let me know.
