I got stung by a jellyfish near tokyo bay this summer. i got a permanent scar from it right round my left leg - at least the scar is still there now and not looking like it's going away.

never saw what it was though. probably a much smaller version of that fella, or maybe just a stray tentacle.

When I was a young man I used to surf alot.

I had this terrible fitting wetsuit about 2 sizes to big for me.

The 'shirt' had this huge gap at the neck/chest where water would wash in when ducking a wave.

One day I was ducking a wave when the wave washed a freakin man of war down inside my wetsuit.

It was horrible and literally nearly killed me, I was about 1/8 mile offshore, couldent breath, and going into shock.

I ripped off the wetsuit (and let it float away) dove for the bottom and scrubbed with sand. That helped a little... at least I could breath now. I paddled into shore where some guys whom were prepaired and had bottles of amonia on them and poured it on the wound.

I still have scars to this day but unles youve been stung on the nipples by a man of war you dont know what a real sting is
