Hey guys, is there a way to open more than one tube at a time when you select them to fire? ie; i want to fire a spread of torpedoes using "salvo" selecter say tubes 1 to 4 i know if i highlight tube 1 and press 'Q' to open and flood the tube, but how can i do this for several tubes at one time? or cant it be done...is there a mod for this?
Cheers, Ren |

just select another tube (use 'w' to cycle through tubes) and press 'q' again to open this tube too. So if you want to open tubes 1, 2 and 3: 1st select tube 1, press q, press w, press q, press w, press q

As stated you can open them all long before the attack. You go deep they will close.
You can't set up a spread per say, you have to spread one torp at a time using the spread selector. |

Now, if you're wanting to actually fire several torpedoes at once, you have to know that is one area where SH3 got it wrong. Just like the Americans, the Germans had a strict rule about how closely together torpedoes could be fired, something on the order of twenty seconds apart. There was no firing four torpedoes together, or even in quick succession.
The reason for this was that in case of a premature explosion, with a true salvo, the malfunctioning torpedo would also blow up the perfectly good torpedoes fired with it in a very spectacular fireworks display. ![]() With torpedoes fired at least 20 seconds apart or so, one could premature and you would still have a good chance of taking out your target.
