My career ended too soon? And problems ...
My career (Peter Lenke) has ended too soon!
![]() However, via SH3 Commander I can continue with a new Commander. ![]() SPEED PROBLEM (DURING MY LAST PATROL) SEE IMAGE BELOW: View the (full) speed and look bottom left 5 knots? North Sea VIIB rough sea. Question 1: is this a bug or normal? It was impossible to go any faster than 5 knots at maximum speed? NEXT IMAGE, EVERYTIME PROBLEMS WITH COMPRESSED AIR: Here is an image so you are able to see the compressed air. I submerged for only a couple of minutes and surfaced to see if compressed air has been changed. I did not do anything (did not use blow ballast) ... can somebody explain me why the compressed air has been changed? Thanks! ![]() Last edited by Rafael; 10-14-09 at 03:24 PM. do you have the "malfunctions and sabotage" option in SH3 Commander checked?
if so that will explain a lot of your problems. also, if you select "use realistic career length" your commander will be retired after a random number of patrols

![]() Indeed "realistic career length" is also what I am using, but I did not know that my career would end soooo soon! It's June 1940. Now I am wondering if more sub-simmers use the "malfunctions and sabotage" option and "realistic career length"? Furthermore, my Kapitänleutnant did not retired, he went to Kiel for another job at the Kriegsmarine (that was the SH3 Commander message) LOL! Thanks again for teaching me this specific lesson! ![]() |

Grey sinked ship?
Another question ...
See image below, on the same patrol (North Sea) I saw on my map a grey sinked ship. I was not in that area. There were a lot of allied warships, did the Luftwaffe sinked the grey ship on my map? I cannot imagine that, because of the bad weather. There were allied planes that could not see me too. Thanks again! ![]() Last edited by Rafael; 10-14-09 at 03:24 PM. Reason: Images deleted |

Due to the fact your exploits as a Kaleun preceed you it scuttled to save itself from your wrath
![]() Tis a ship that has sunk for whatever reason, weather, mine, aircraft, whilst in rendering range but not as a direct result of your intervention. |

![]() I have seen a similar ship (armed trawler) near the Dutch coast as well. This ship was quite far away and I submerged my boat. Same patrol ... The armed trawler was searching for me ... I could see the hydrophone lines on my map and a couple of hours later this vessel also was grey ... so I surfaced! ![]() What the hell did sunk this armed vessel near the Dutch coast line on 1 June 1940? 1. Rough weahther ... no I don't think so. 2. Mines near the Dutch coast (Den Helder) ... no in my honest opinion. 3. Maybe a German warship (but I did not hear any other ship) ... no again. 4. It must be the Luftwaffe, but also rather impossible with bad weather. This is "hocus pocus" to me ... if this is correct English language too? Mysterious ... and ghosty last patrol for Peter Lenke! LOL ![]() p.s. I am getting older and my mind is not always working 100%, sorry for the name mistake! ![]() Last edited by Rafael; 08-04-09 at 12:15 PM. Reason: Jimbuna, Meduza, etc. etc |

Thanks Steve!
![]() Everything makes more sense to me. But what is the difference between: 1) Malfunctions. 2) Sabotage. Hmmm .... "sabotage", I always think of a crew member that is a spy! (OKAY I KNOW ME DUMMY) :rotfl: |

Malfunctions: Little things go wrong, sometimes.
Sabotage: Some of the dock crews are with the French underground, and make big things go wrong. I'm not sure of all the differences, just that Sabotage happens more often and the problems are worse.
