Default NPL_Conte_Verde will always cause CTD when you sink it

i played the game the other day and found a CTD bug with the huge euro liner conte verde that i wasnt aware of before.

as the title says, NPL_Conte_Verde will always cause CTD when you sink it

i think its triggered by the actual ship sunk part because it will CTD when it explodes or when it floods to the point you should get the ship sunk notice.

i dont have the time right now and so i am not even working on it but i hope reporting about it will get us a fix for it soon
because as far as i can tell there is nothing in gfo, rfb, tmo, fotrs, or rsrdc that fixes this bug.

EDIT: ITS REPORTED TO ONLY BE CORRUPTED GAME FILES ON MY COMPUTER SO PLEASE IGNORE THIS THREAD

I've also sunk it many times in past versions of RFB without problems, but I have no idea on the situation in RFB 1.52.

I guess the only place where it IS a problem is in the Game Fixes Only mod. Please keep in mind that all supermods are open source and the solution to this problem is easily accessed and usable, Webster.

Please do not make rash statements about other mods, especially when accuracy of your statements is a problem. I urge you to maintain focus on making GFO the best mod it can be and letting your work speak for itself.

You know, with the other mods in SH4, if a problem is found by LukeFF and it affects TMO, FOTRS, Op Monsun, RSRD or others, he PM's the other modders with the solution and doesn't make any public statements that the other mods are broken. In fact, one of those modders PM'd Webster with a description of the problem and its solution (a wrong ship type code in a supplied list of missions) some time ago. The aim is to make all supermods the best they can be by coopetition: shared solutions by separate but equal mods. The goal is to make SH4 the best it can be, not to be the big Kahuna.

A game is the best it can be only when there are several co-existing, healthy supermods in development which compete, cooperate and inspire each other to improve.

without having much time to look into it i tested all mods AND pure stock and found this CTD bug in all cases.

i simply reported something i thought was a problem in the stock game that continued to be a problem no matter what mod i installed on top of it, because i DID try them all one at a time and the problem continued. this was the ONLY reason those mods were mentioned, just to be clear that i did try adding those mods to see if it was a stock bug that was already fixed by other mods.

i am glad to hear its a corruption only in my game files and i just need to reinstall the game.


as for your comment "I urge you to be part of community instead of trying to one-up it." i never tried to one-up anyone or anything if someone feels differently it is purely one sided on their part.

Except that RFB doesn't have this problem.

Now THAT'S what I'm talking about! Join the party Webster. It's what makes the SH4 modding community special and what makes SH4 a great game. I urge you to be part of that community instead of trying to one-up it.
