need help

I am stuck on the mission where I have to sneak in to a harbour and take a photo however I am stuck close to the shore outside the harbour sub badly damaged cant get out to get refit trapped by gunboats,BUT I havent saved my game! daft I know!
I cant restart the mission as you dont get that option Do I have to restart the whole U BOAT campaign again? or could someone maybe point me in the direction of a save game file I could download.Thanks

you dont have to complete the mission. You can just return to youre HOME port for repairs. But there is a chance you will have to repeat the mission. Just get out of danger and save the game. In the future it is allways a good idea to save before you engage.

Thanks,but I just cant escape Im so badly damaged

Describe the damage to your boat. If you can submerge, you should be able to creep past gunboats. I think they can listen but don't have depth charges. If you can't submerge, you will have to wait them out, if possible. You sure can't outgun them.

you wont lose the career if you just restart at port before your present patrol started. the game auto saves your mission start so restart your game there and you only lose what you did on your last patrol.

and next time always save before entering any dangerous area like going into harbors.
