My game is currently in the November of 1940. I have been trying to find an OG convoy (around the Straits of Gibraltar,) however after spending about a week patrolling the area between Spain and Africa, I have found only a patrol craft, a sail boat, and a couple of neutral large cargo ships. I have gotten a few hydrophone contacts, but all of them seem to disappear in the middle of nowhere. I have gone about a month and a half in the game and sunk nothing but a tramp steamer.
I am using GWX 3.0 and SH3 Commander. Any suggestions on what I should do to increase my tonnage? Thanks. |

There's a decent map of convoy routes at the top left of your chart,
Find a decent intersection, make sure you have a decent guy in the radio chair and patrol |

I reckon putting yourself closer to the strait of Gibraltar would increase your chances of intercepting a bit of traffic, but don't get too close to the opening obviously, you want to be in position to intercept them coming in and out at a reasonable distance. In effect you are trying to find chokepoints on the map,and manipulate them to the fullest.
I have'nt been near the med for many months now.

Near to the straights of Gibraltar is a good spot for traffic, but watch out for Royal Navy patrols, and the occasional air patrol.

Station yourself 250 clicks west of Gibraltar and the traffic will come to you....just a little patience is needed at times like in RL, the Kaleuns would often go a few weeks or more without any sightings

Hope this helps you. You can click the upper left for a specific convoy in the OG group to see the list of ships.

![]() I think it's the radioman that's causing the problem. I had no idea the radioman did anything before I got radar, so I just have a raw bootsman in his seat. I will finish up this patrol and train a radioman, and hopefully I will get more contact reports.
