Can't get skins to work with TMO 1.7
I got around to actually reinstalling the UBM add-on so I could use TMO 1.7. With previous TMOs I had taken the FooBor skins and packaged them in such a way that the game would use the black ones when necessary and then switch over to the gray one when the time came. However, with TMO 1.7 the names have changed. Since you can now actually choose the color of your sub I was going to rename the skin files so I could continue to use the FooBor skins. However, that is not the case. The game still uses the skins included with TMO 1.7 (except the Tench and AI fleetboat since those file names are unchanged). Take the Balao for instance. The two hull skin filenames before 1.7 are: NSS_Balao_T01 (the black skin) and NSS_Balao_T02 (the gray one). The conning tower skins were: NSS_BalaoTower_T01 (the black one) and NSS_BalaoTower_T02 (the gray one). With TMO 1.7 the new hull file names are: NSS_Balao_T02A (the black one) and NSS_Balao_T01B (the gray skin). The new conning tower file names are: NSS_BalaoTower_T02A (the black one) and NSS_BalaoTower_T01B (the gray one). Should be a simple rename of the skin files for the FooBor skins, right? Well, the game is not recognizing them. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I think I got it figured out. For some reason the game still needs the old files with the file names in addition to the new ones. Without the old ones the game will load the old textures.

so you just renamed the foobar files and left the original files alone?

Yeah, pretty much. When I renamed the files there were no originals left thus leading to my issue. It wasn't until I started snooping around the actual SH4 Data folder that it hit me - I needed to have the originals along with the new ones.
