TMO163 Environment Problem
Ahoi U-Boot Freunde,
without further stalling for time I present my problem heads-on. I use SHIV1.5 with TMO 1.63, RSRDC for TMO 1.63 (v410) and some other stuff, that does not affect anything but some textures and such. The problem I have you can see in the pictures below! This is a screenshot with all the mods I use: ![]() Now this is a stock 1.5: ![]() ![]() ![]() There is some annoying blue pixel crap around the edges of the sub-model when looking through the water. This occurs when I have the mods installed. In stock SH4v15 this does not happen. I thought that it has something to do with the environment changes that were done in TMO1.63. This is why I posted it here. What would I have to change there to remove these effect? I wonder if I can change at least the color of those pixels to a dark blue so they are not that visible. Does anybody know where to look for these effects? I did a little bit of modding with some textures and skwas's awesome S3D. But basically I have only modified other mods. So if somebody who has some environmental modding experience is able to help me...that would be really cool. Thanks, rosentorf P.S.: This is my first real post. Been reading this forum for about two years now. I have decided that I want to do more of my own modding now. But let me thank all modders out there that made SHIV actually a great game. Thanks and please keep on working. Last edited by rosentorf; 02-25-09 at 02:48 PM. |

Looks like it may be a driver issue? I run the same set up with Krillers Environment 4.0 mod over the top, I used to get the same thing but white, updated drivers and deleted the water shaders (?) file out of the environment mod and it went away, but you would have to check back through the old posts as I'm not sure exactly which one it was. Do a forum search for 'white lines around sub' and you may find something. Good luck!

Thank you, Archie.
I think I found a diskussion about that problem in a huge thread about PE4. But I will check that later after work. I will sum up the results of what it was when I get that fixed, as I find searching those huge threads is a little mühseelig, and this might help others that have that problem. rosentorf out! ![]() |

Hi Rosentorf,
It's a stock SH4 bug which happens when the submarine are in shallow water or near land. If you load up SH4 without any mods and try the torpedo single mission, kill the warship and use TC to forward time to dusk you should allso be able to see the "white lines". When Nisgeis made the new water shader for PE4 with me, he rewrited the shader-code for how the transparency of the water is defined, so that you could see the bottom of the seabed when near land. We did try to fix the "White line" bug but couldn't remove it 100%, because the SH4-engine uses the distance between the submarine and the seabed to calculate in which colour the waterline around the sub shall be, this is why you wont see this bug on the middle of the ocean. It sounds complicated and it is, Nisgeis probaly has a better explanation for this issue than me ![]() More info about it here: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...ht=white+lines http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...ht=white+lines |

@kriller2
I have tried what you said. And for the first time ever I saw the white lines. Usually they are blue. And then I saw this: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() In those pictures you see the same thing as before: the white lines. But then they disappear. That's what I want. But instead I have that blue crap ![]() I do not have time to go through the links you posted today, kriller2 thank you, but I will for sure tomorrow. [edited: Woops, forgot to mention...those schreenshots were taken in the torpedo attack mission. did not move the boat. that happened right where it was...suppose that is the position where shallow water turns into deep water? ] @archie: It is late here but now that I have seen that my problem is probably not stock SHIV related I will try to find out more about the water-shader file you were talking about. But as mentioned aboved too much for today. I will get into that tomorrow! @reallydedpoet: Thanks for the welcome! Last edited by rosentorf; 02-27-09 at 12:30 AM. |
