[REL] US Torpedo Overhaul
US TORPEDO OVERHAUL v1.1
=================== UPDATE v1.1: Accidentally included the TMO version of Torpedoes_US.sim during the conversion (mod was originally designed for TMO). The TMO version changed various torp. data such as dud rates. Thanks to fred8615 and Webster for pointing it out. Now includes the proper vanilla version. The main goal was to give all of the US torpedoes a discernable and appealing depiction. Images and references were used where available. Every US torpedo has had it's model and uv mapping changed as well as new textures. In some cases completely new geometry was used. Each torpedo now has it's own unique texture rather than sharing for best results. Also included matching icons. Credits/Thanks: -Skwasjer, for without his S3D this mod would not be. you never actually said anything about realism so i'll ask, to the best of your knowledge is this torp texture mod historically accurate?
and are you planning to do a german version as well for those of us who play both sides? |

Hi,
** Still awaiting my account activation over @ submarineSimcentral so can't speak to Ducimus directly concerning this ** I think i've found a small "bugette" - i'm calling it that as it's not a show-stopper! He has included your excellent (not used lightly, i may add!!) work in the BETA 170 update for TMO and therefore for the next full release. I have found that when running this with RSRDC that allows a start date of the 1st october 1942, any submarine that has mark 23 torpedoes (not S-class) the tubes don't show up in loadout screen in port and when playing the game at sea the mark 23's are replaced by German torpedoes - also the foward internal reloads are missing. i'm guessing this is to do with the torpedoes availibilty and the game not being able to skin mark 23's in Oct 42 as after this date everything is fine. i'm not sure if it's your mod or TMO as the mod was only just incorporated in TMO 170 and not previous releases Kaleun |
