Hey guys, just thought I'd see if there were any others out there who enjoy playing a few of the oldies but goodies as far as Star Trek is concerned
![]() I've been playing Judgement Rites alot recently; the CD enhanced version, which features all of the Original Series cast's voices speaking the dialogue. I actually kind of feel sorry for Leonard Nimoy in this, and I'll explain why. ![]() In the game, you usually have a few key items in your inventory. Your phaser, the science and medical tricorders, and your communicator. Now, the science tricorder can be used to scan pretty much anything you see, and about 90% of the time, Mr Spock has something interesting to say about it. That's why I feel sorry for Nimoy, as he had to record thousands of lines of dialogue, just incase someone fancied scanning a lightbulb or the floor. McCoy's medical tricorder isnt quite the same, but he usually has some kind of cynical comment about the situation. ![]() The thing I like most about this game is the fact that unlike most Star Trek games post 1990, it doesnt rely on action and combat. There's even an option to turn off space combat completely, and the only thing you really have to worry about from there is phasering a few people on the away missions. Its nice to have a decent point-and-click adventure game for once, instead of the laser-fests of Elite Force or Legacy. Anyway, that's my short review of Star Trek: Judgment Rites - Even if you're not into the franchise, I really do recommend you give it a go. You may be pleasantly suprised ![]() I'll add some more reviews later, if anyone is interested ![]()

I haven't played JR in quite a while, but enjoyed it. Recently have played a bit with ST A Final Unity, and it is fun with these older sims. Even found a working copy of an old Perry Mason game, The Mandarin Murder, which I only bring up because like Judgement Rites, it makes you think, and do problem solving rather then being in a shooting contest!

I should still have my old 3.5 inch copies of Judgment Rites somewhere. I dearly hope they weren't among some games I lost in a domicile switch. It was one of my favorites of all times where adventure games were concerned.

Have to admit, I was always more of a starfleet battles fan... this one looks too much like Monkey Island to hold my interest.

I saw that game many years ago. A 25th anniversary special edition with cd and case etc.
It was $98 back then. Very expensive but many games ranged that price range then. I didn't buy it figuring the price would go down in time. Lol I didn't expect the store to go down first. :rotfl: I lost it and never saw that game again. I heard that many red dudes get smashed, zapped, eatened, killed. lol the red jacket curse hehehehe. ![]() |

Gawd....I played this once eons ago. I have a feeling it's still around somewhere. If I recall there were some arcade-like space battles you could fight too.
