Did anyone try 10-th flotilla in far east?

Introduction first.

Just recently, after having a long career in 2-nd and 23/29 flotillas (total 36 patrols) I thought to myself - It's time to try somethig else .... maybe more exiting. I'm on my 37-th patrol. I changed my home flotilla to 10-th and I'm trying to sail from Lorient to Penang. It's December 1943 (game time). Well, the plan is to do it hard way. On route from Lorient I completed my BDU orders (patrol grid BE 83, by the way 2 kills - 20 000 BRT) and I'm going to sail through Gibraltar, raid port in Gibraltar, than straight to Malta, raid Malta, and than ....... Port Said just to cross Suez Channel, Red Sea and "straight" to Penang (Doenitz won't gonna like it).
The puzzle is ... not Gibraltar, not Malta or Suez Channel (I did raids there a lot of times, 3 times crossed Suez Ch. etc., I know enemy's defences, and my boat fuel & ammo restrictions), puzzle is Penang itself.

After I choosed 10-th flotilla, I was ordered to make combat patrol in AM52 grid. Although patrol was very successful Tommy's were too close to send me to the bottom (over 60% hull integrity lost). After I'd reached home base in .... Lorient on mid October 1943 and repaired my boat, I received in December 1943 (with a little help from SH3 Cmdr.) next patrol grid in BE 83:hmm: . Well it's hard to call it a distant area, isn't it?

Now to the topic.

The question is, will my home base change automatically to Penang after reaching it or should I do sth more to ensure that, like .... loading GWX Indian Ocean files, or maybe sth else (sorry for too long introduction above, but I thought it would be nice to let somebody know about my plans before I'll be MIA).

My current boat is type XXI U-2513 and I'm GWX 2.1 user.

If anyone has experience in far east flotilla, please feel free to enlight me .

Closer to the time you are moved you will be given a G grid to patrol
Right down by South Africa
There is a tanker there to refuel IIRC
Anyway while that way you should get base has changed to Penang
And then you sail there

Yes, but it's December 1943 now. Penang is already available (blue on the nav. map) from September 1943. I received many massages about monsum uboat group operations on radio earlier while I still was in 23/29 flotilla based at La Spezia - Italy.
So, .... "closer to the time" may not come or .... am I wrong BBW?:hmm:
Potential risk of that mission is very high (DID), but I'm enough bold and stupid to take my boat to Penang. It wouldn't be nice to arrive there about 2 months later on my last droplets of fuel, 25% hull integrity, starving crew etc. just to learn that your next combat patrol grid will be ... f.e. AM 52 or BF 14 :rotfl: .

6-th December 1943, .... and maybe the hook is my XXI boat? (You know that "stock" SH3 problem with assigning grids for those boats?) or one of mods I use.

Wow...., sth just came into my mind. Strange, but I do have another problem. There should be available XXX flotilla at Black Sea. I don' t have it in 'Apply for transfer" section in home base. Something is not right with my game.
