Briefing: Your Orders on This Mission: Find a PT Elco Torpedo Boat MOD With BOW DEPTH CHARGE Rack ~ That WORK ~N~ GWX Compatible Also Wish GWX Team would work on a Mod that would include Schnellboot ~N~ Elco Armed with Torpedos that WORK ~ They Also Should Have Depth Charge Rack on Bow That Work for the Schnellboot ~N~ Elco Boat ~ I Have The MOD for the Schnellboot ~N~ Ekco Depth Charge Rack That Fire ~BUT~ Will ONLY Work With Improved U-Boat SuperMod ~ I Can Not USE the MOD With GWX SuperMod Would Also Like a MOD That has The Averger Torpedo Plane that have TORPEDOS ABORAD That Work ~ Thats Why its CALLED A Torpedo plane Good Hunting ~ Captains Find The MOD ~N~ Torpedo it To This Grim Reaper Thread With The DownLoad Link ~ So ALL Can Read ~ Captains That's A Order Thx U in advance for taking the Time Out of Your Shore Leave to Read ~N~ Answer This Thread ~ The Grim Reaper

Again, its ELCO, not Ecko. Short for ELectric boat COmpany, who also made submarines.
And they only had depth-charge racks on the rear sides, replacing the aft torpedo tubes. As for planes dropping torpedoes, no AI unit in the game can shoot torpedoes. That's Why GWX wolfpack subs are surfaced and use deck guns.

UPDATE ~ Their Are CALLED Hedgehog Anti-Submarine Mortars
I Finally Found Out what the rack is called ~ It is called a HEDGEHOG Anti-Submarine Mortar http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...ine_mortar.jpg I only had time to look in SSIII Museum for what I have be Posting All these Thread about They Also had them on American ~N~ British Warships like ~ Captain Class I and II ~N~ Colony Class ~ WarShip [They Also put them on The BOW of American ~N~ British PT Elco Torpedo Boat] FINALLY ~ at least now I Know what they are called ~ HEDGEHOG Anti-Submarine Motar ~ I now can get's some sleep Crash Diving for a while

I can find no evedence that Hedge Hogs were ever used on Elco's.
Experimental Rocket Launchers, and Automatic Cannons, I found. :hmm: (Hanomag probably won't like that!) :rotfl: but not Hedge Hogs. |

I do hope your not holding your breath
waiting for AI Torpedoes. Everyone and his Mother-in-Law has attempted them. Nobody has a truely good solution. So nobody releases thier work. And before you ask for them? Diveing AI Subs are another 'Holy Grail' I can make them dive and re-surface. But there are problems that I've not been able to resolve. So no release. the DC Racks on torpedo boats was only used in the Pacific from what I understand. |

Cause they create trouble in Game. I haven't worked on them in around a year. But I do have several thoughts to fix some of the problems. And then there's the AI Torpedo problem. No AI Torpedos, why make the sub dive? |

Isn't there a way to fix them to fire the deckgun only if not under threat, and dive if being fired at? It's kinda weird seeing them take fire and do nothing about it. I'm not sure if I remember correctly, but didn't Racerbody made a mod where ships could fire torpedos? Is there a way to make the subs fire torpedos? And the problems you speak about, are they CTDs? ![]()

RB did Torps that traveled at speeds that are WAY beyound realistic.
They also suffered the problem of only traveling in certian directions. Common problems. The AI Diveing Subs do not cause CTDs. But suffer from being classed as AI Ships. If they dive? The bounding Box the Game sees is still a surfaced unit. All Hell breaks lose near Convoys!! And within moments? The Convoy hits a Friendly unit. You know what happens then. The Friendlies are no longer Friendlies! Now the Convoy sinks itself!! Now, I can use standard Subs files which use the AI Merchant controller for scripting them surfaced in Missions. But I have not tested if they suffer the loss of movement as Standard Subs do when scripted underwater in a Mission. As I said, I have had no time in nearly a year to devote to them. Other things that have become reality took thier place. The only person to actually get a copy of the first files could not grasp the concept. The second person agreed it was a valid and great approach. But agreed that some of the problems would take more time then we had to devote to them. |
