Cant seem to detect the both subs even though i go up and under the thermal layer . One of the subs keep poping up as fisher boat and cant get the computer to detect the subs.

Your problem is not clearly exposed...
What platform are you using?
Is your speed too fast?
What about the sound speed profile?
Are the signals strong enough to mark some contact?
Are you using the right sensor for this tactical situation?
Etc Etc Etc Etc

Sure you can find some kind of answer looking for certain right questions

the scenario is from red storm rising

speed 3 to 5 knots

signal strong enough for at least to mark ik as fishing boat buts its an akula ( i checked in truth on)

Using narrow band , broad band spheric sonar, towed arraw and side sonars

Marking counts as a detection for trigger purposes.
