I'm trying to build a mission where the playable sub had an accident aboard which damaged its rudder and stern planes.
I noticed that it is seemingly possible to have system damage in DW using the script but when I tested the scenario the rudder (and most probably the stern planes) were still working fine after the trigger initiated the script and sent a report with an accompanying audio file. Is this system damage one of the thing that was planned but was never finished?

Damage to these systems doesn't disable them completely, but only makes them less efficient.

One more thing. The trigger has an assigned duration as well as the script. Does the trigger which prompts the script has to active as long as the script is active? or can I make the trigger active only for a minute and leave the script it prompted to work(last) for an hour?

The trigger just switches the script on. The script settings determine how long the script lasts.
