Interesting. I would buy the 2 seater for sure. That thing looks fun. The 4 door however, not so much, but it looks nice.

It's sad that now that electric cars had started again to appear due to the astronomic fuel cost (Up to 148$ a barrel

) the financial crisis has taken oil down to 59$ and that will most likely kill the come-back of the electric car. And when the oil runs dry, we will be as unprepared as we are now or were last year, and the crash will be bigger.

I heard it was closer to 900 years but what the hell...Again, this alleged oil crisis is another hoax, similar in fashion to the global warming bandits. The two actually go hand in hand isn't that a coincident?

900 years with no growth. I'm factoring a conservative number that takes into the account that the US won't be at 300 Mil people forever, and that growth in this country will continue.

Intresting car. I perfer a V8 myself though.

What happens when there is no electrical outlet areound, and you run out of battery power. Once the thing runs out of power, you realy just have a big toy car.

I hear you. I had remarked to myself a few weeks ago how cool it was that the 'free' market was coincidentally a 'green' market; that as fuel prices were being driven up, people were compelled to waste less and invest in alternative fuels and efficiency measures, all of their own volition

Now that gas is coming back down though, I agree that this will probably drop off the radar again until the next crunch.

Considering the amount of oil being extracted here in Australia is delcining I would say alternative fuels seem a good idea. Australia has plenty of gas, so I can see that becoming a boom market in the near future.

As for electric cars, I can seem them becoming a bigger part of motoring, in particular for city driving. The amount of KM's my wife and I travel in a day isn't that great (30- 60 km Max) and I can see an electric car being a good idea for a second car.

Given tesla claim to be able to go roughly 250km on a charge (iirc from their website) it would be utterly perfect for driving in most cities. Combine that with nuclear power for generating the electricity to charge the vehicle, and you got one of the cleanest things around! Battery manufacture aside, of course.

If we used electric cars in urban areas, demand for oil would be less. So even if you believe Global Warming is a scam it should make sense, in the supply/demand pricing of oil and strategic nessecity to diversify your energy resources.

The real and proven scam is that oil price is not supply/demand driven, but is/was determined by the "golden boys", in the stock markets, the oil companies and OPEC. With the tolerance if not cooperation of our elected goverments. Free economy my ess!

Has the price for gazoline "on the pump" fallen in the US yet?
