Error. (Updating)

I have tried to update SH3 to 1.4

but it keeps coming up with an error:

Please help!!!

I had this problem and it turns out that my SH3 disc (from Focus Essential) was already patched to v1.4 out of the box! Once the game has loaded and you are at the beginning screen where you can choose Naval Academy, Career, Single Missions etc. look at the bottom right hand area of the screen. If it is already patched it will say 1.4b there.

Hope this is all the problem is!

In that case I hope some else smarter than myself will be along soon to help sort this out. Just out of interest, have you tries a different site for downloading the 1.4 patch from? Gamershell.com seems to be pretty reliable to me. Heres the link:
