Default Bravo Zulu

Well after my initial Re-install issues and a problem with jgsme and secondary folders I got running last night with RFB, NSM, RSRD, PE4. I started out with an S Boat out of Cavite in Hard Mode...On Dec 8...Headed up to do some recon by Lingayen Bay..then was told to recon a small coastal village. Started heading that way, then received orders to go up to some islands and destroy any IJN shipping..well since I figured that the village was on the way I would take care of that. Started closing in on the surface and started picking up visual contacts..went deep and headed for contacts..came to PD and found ahead of me 8-10 DD's, 5 Merchants, and in the dead center of the formation was a Light Cruiser with 4 Stacks....all of them sitting DIW!!

So I go sinker and drive through the screen...Got some Depth Charges and Active sent my way but no harm no foul....Came to PD around 1600....right in the middle of a storm forming......was about 1600 Yards from the CL...Shot three torpedos...I couldn't miss.......that is until the CL saw said three fired torpedos.....and took off like a bat out of hell.......

In retrospect, I probably should have closed more...but the thrill of the kill was too much....learned my lesson and will take my time next approach....

Just have to say that the Mods are just awesome and what a great job ALL of you have done.

1600 yds isn't all that unreasonable under certain circumstances...

...a matter of adjusting your lead for longer shots....

I assumed that he would not see the torpedos....I assumed wrong.

I am not sure what torpedo's I had but they would not shift to fast.

So Assume may 10-15 knots for slow speeds....1000-1500 yards every 3 minutes...maybe next time I need to calculate alertment speed into my shots and send one ahead..

I don't think the Mk X has a fast setting, and that's all an S-boat can shoot in the way of torpedoes. It is, after all, a WWI vintage submarine.

Two things....

Yes they do, unrealistically so. Cruisers and DD's aware of your presance are 'on their toes' and you either spread shots in anticipation of there 'squirting' ahead to flank or take shots at much closer range 500 to 600 yards

I dident think they would see the torpedoes
Well they probably dident, the heard them. Doesent matter bearing or course hear high speed screws and they immediatly alter course / speed to avoid.
