Default How did you die this time?

For those of us who play DID, I want to take a survey on the method of death experienced by skippers playing SH3/GWX. Feel free to add your comments.

P.S. I am also very curious to find out how big the disparity between SH3/GWX and real life as to the cause of uboat losts.

So far with my current carrear I havent been killed.

But my last carear had a suddent end.

I was under attack, Three distroyers had me cornered in s bad situation, They had dropped DCs all around me and my hull was leaking. As my boat rested on the shallow bottom, the flooding increased but the front of my boat was almost at the surface. Then two DCs landed in the right place to do inreparabel to my stern torpedo room. Finaly the bow of my boat was rammed and I was now completely on the bottom, Now a sitting duck, I couldnt Blow ballast to surface,I was stuck. A distroyer went over me and hit me with three DCs and that was the end to that boat.

Usually depth charge by destroyer.

The hardest part I find is to get into attack position without being detected, if I can do that I'm pretty safe.

I thought Id tell the reason I didnt get out of this one. I was in Shallow water where I could barley go 30m. If I could have gone deep I would have been fine.

my most recent one - couple of months ago - trying to get out of a convoy.

i was around 270 meters and took some hedge hogs which caused flooding.

worked on the damage, but the depth charges caused more damage moments later.

because of the additional damage, 270 meters was too much and i experienced implosion due to sea pressure

I was patrolling the northern entrance of the Hebrides in 45 and was discovered by a lone destroyer at night. I probably forgot to lower my snorkel. She got me with the hedgehogs. Before I go down, I sunk her as well. Misery loves company...

For me, it was trying to get to a northbound convoy in grid BE in May 1944. Once the escorts detected me, I couldn't shake them. Eventually the depth charges did us in.
