Had to replace PC with new one and can't get the sun anything like what it was on old one. Have been following the thread but it seems to have hit an unresolvable problem. Yes have tried drivers and settings but no joy. Have tried Krillerssun but it is the same as GWX 2.1. OLCE2 makes the sun and moon very small but a better effect. I think having a weak halo effect is a big cause. I have decided that the only solution is use OLCE2 and make new sun tga's to increase and enhance, plus some tweaking. Any useful tips are appreciated.
1/. GWX 2.1 - 2/. Krillersun - 3/.OLCE2 ![]() |

Hi!
Do you have a NVidia card and antialiasing enabled? I experienced this sun problem when activating antialiasing higher than 4x! greetings |

I have that wee sun too. I'm not sure if I'm that bothered by it. I was looking at the sun today and it looks nowhere near as big as the one in GWX.

Hi rob989
The wee sun has a better effect, but the moon's that size also. I think 3 times smaller than GWX, which is about 3x bigger than the OLCE2 one. I can do that and also try to improve the halo. I won't get it as blindingly bright as the old PC, but it'll be an improvement. I 've done a quick trial by doubling the size of OLC's sunhalo.tga and it is an improvement. |

TBW, try this fix. It doesn't work for everyone, but judging by your screens it should work for your machine.
A small note regarding the sun size: It's not a bug, I made it smaller on purpose. You might find it hard to believe but the sun and moon in OLCE2, although smaller than those in GWX, are actually still slightly bigger than the sun and moon in real life! I'll not bore people with the math... here's a picture instead: ![]()

Thankyou OLC
I'll let you know the result. You won't believe it, but the photo sun looks smaller than real life. I thought it was the new pc, but it must be me getting use to a large sun. I was right with predicting the sticky on OLCE2 though. ![]() Sorry I couldn't assist with your new project, but I can see your macro could crack a lot of other problems as well. It might even solve one of mine. Have tried moving the torpedo setting dials about in your GUI to solve the high res problem people were having (altering torpedo depth). Works great, but then hit a snag with the glass. That's a very ingenious way to do it. Have searched to find what puts the curser there, but still unsuccessful. |
