Default books from the u-boat side of life.

lo all

i know its been discussed before but could anyone reccomend a couple of books from the u-boat side of things.

ive got "iron coffins"
"The battle of the atlantic" (BBC)
"battle beneath the waves"
theyre all good...but they do generalise aout the overall war in the atlantic (save coffins)...

im looking for books more on the life aboard a sub.....I know it was mostly boredom....but....im talkin contact reports, engagement reports and the depth charging experiences.

any tips.

E-bay awaits!!!

Das Boot(The Boat)
Lothar-Gunther Buchheim

Work of fiction based on his experiences as a correspondent during the war.
If you want life aboard a U-Boat, this is very descriptive. From the boredom of endlessly patrolling to the terror of 6 hours of depth charge attack.

Exactly what I was going to say, sharkbit. Fascinating descriptions of a sailor's thoughts during the whole experience.
