Just made my way over to SH4 from many years with SH3 and find that I cannot delete waypoints the way I could in SH3 - could just take out ones in the middle and shift the course. The written instructions that pop up when clicking on the nav icon seem incomplete. The waypoints no longer seem to 'light up' when the cursor passes over them. What am I missing here?
Also, is there any way to change the key pad assignments? Seems strange that Ubi would change some of them, ie, F5 is no longer the Nav Map, F4 is no longer Bridge, F3 is no longer the Attack Scope, etc - once they become automatic, it would be nice if they were consistent in similar games designed by the same developer. |

I didn't play SH3 so I may not understand you correctly. I just grab the eraser from the bottom left and use it to erase any waypoints I don't want. The course automatically shifts to the next waypoint in line.
As far as key assignments, I *think* you can modify a file to accomplish what you want.

I wish I could give you a better answer but I teethed on SH4 and went to SH3 w/GWX. My way to use navpoints was to use only one and then drag it around when I needed to change course. Who knows how many resources this saves by conserving little digital flags?

There is at least one mod (there are probably a lot more) that remaps the key assignments to that used by SH3. I think the Trigger Maru supermod also does this.

The stock waypoints work find in the unmodded game. Create as many as you want, delete any you want with the eraser. Drag any waypoints you want moved any time you want. Easy stuff. If your computer is so resource starved you cant do this, I'm surprise you can play the game at all. One waypoint or 100. The game plays the same.
