I don't have any 3D software, nor am I the least conversant with same. I'm not hopeless when it comes to coding and such, having written several minor Basic-type programs. Just encountering a Blue Whale in the game would be so cool tho. Any tips/tutorials/recommended software will be appreciated-just exploring my options at this point understand.

There are some freeware modelling programs around, which allow output in several formats. You would then need the SH3 tools (Available in the links in this forum) to be able to input models -Sansal's pack3D I believe- and Swaskjer's Silent Editor.
But first of all if I were you, I would try to take a good look at the dolphin already implemented in GWX. If you can extract one of those models and study it, it might give you a good idea of how hard/easy it would be. If you talk about this with the GWX guys they might even give you permission to modify the model, as I believe reworking a dolphin will be much easier than starting from scratch if you intend to create a whale ![]() Anyway, if you are interested in playing with wildlife you can try this one: http://www.jawsthegame.com/gallery.htm ![]()

Modeling it is the easy part.
Then it has to be animated, all the effects coded in for wakes and such and then scripted. It's a lot of work. Ask Ref! He did the Whales in GWX 2.0 |

How hard? Hmm, slightly squishy with a generally fleshy consistency I should think. How long? About 100ft according to Brittanica
![]() I'm talking about the blue whale, you understand. |
