Default A polite request to the moderators...

Seeing as we already have a U-Boat missions child forum, could we possibly have a U-Boat Missions mods workshop? It would save stock SH4 players from sifting through the various UBM only projects and perhaps save any confusion for newbies.

97 reads and no reply, comments, thoughts, support or rejections?... :hmm:

Come on mods, don't give me the silent treatment!

THis topic has been discussed before, and repeatedly. General concensus it, things stay as they are.

ETA: better a silent threatment than a "USE THE ^%^$#%&^%!!! SEARCH!!" treatment from some of our uuuh short-fused members And this is said in a humorous way, so keep your swords in your scabbard, people!

Yeah, I hate it when that happens. To be fair, I'm not playing at the moment but I checked back to see how the big bad mods were fairing in the hope that one day I can apply a finalized TMO, NSM, RSRD and one of the environmental mods to my 1.4 and just... play. I swear I spend more hours in JSGME than in SH4.

The other side of this is, what do you do with the mods that affect BOTH fleet boats and u-boats?

Instead of clearing things up, you just added another layer to confuse people.

Seems better to leave it as it is.

Just do an advanced search using [REL], limit it to the SH4Mod workshop and UBM child thread and you'll have a list of all released mods (providing the modders are following the convention used here- which if they haven't- yell at THEM for making things difficult to find. They can always ask a moderator to add the tag to the thread title.

Same thing if you want to see what's being worked on- search the same forums using [WIP]

How many mods do you know that affect U-Boats that are also compatible with stock 1.4? I'd say the mods that affect both could safely be put in the UBM section.

Well, to be brutally honest, they're more often right than wrong when they give someone that treatment (I'm not referring to you)
I'm afraid all of those mods you mentioned have moved on to 1.5 (except NSM, but that one will surely follow as well). If I actually get the add-on it will be because of those outstanding mods and their creators; check lurker's incredible Operation Monsoon, for example. That mod alone is a HUGE temptation that might possibly tear down my objections to getting the add-on! Still, it won't change the fact that I'm bummed that Ubi didn't release a stand-alone patch for the game, but forces you to get the add-on.

Sorry, didn't see this until now. We already have a forum for SH4 mods, there's plenty of room for SH4 & SH4 U-boat mods. One thing we have to guard against is overpopulating the board with more and more forums. Thanks for the suggestion, though.
