Default [HELP] Night overcast clouds screwed up

Do you guys get the same night time texturing problems as seen in this pic?

See how the overcast is bright as if it were daytime? Yet it is the middle of the night in this screen shot and the effect is ruined. Also, the fog was supposed to be HEAVY but you can see stars on the horizon? Things look great in the daytime. In fact the fog even works then.

So, do I have a texture problem. Are the darkened "night cloud skins" not appearing or something? Please help.

Thanks in advance...

I guess they should have made SH4 an open boat where we run around inside and shoot each other a 1000 times. They seem to handle those games with numerous patches. --Longam UBI SHIV Forums

What pic?

I've had stars shining brightly just above the horizon before, but not for the last 3/4 of my patrol. I suspect I twiggled one of the graphics options on (or off)...

yes it is not the problem with the texture but with fog.

simple fog does not draw above heads. Try activating volumentric fog and enviromental effects together.

Hi Quagmire, it looks like you are running a early version of Pacific Enviroments alpha/beta ? - if you are, this will be fixed with PE 2 coming soon. I didn't adjust the brightness of the nightsky when in rain, the mod was rushed because we all wanted a working version of
PE / ROW without imploding subs and oil-leakss burning forever.. for the Uboat addon.

Thank you sir!

Yes I am enjoying PE. Here is my mod order.

SILENT SERVICE 1.2c GRAPHICS MOD
REL_TriggerMaru_Overhaul
SCAF1.2_for_TMO
Install PE 1_1

It was a dark and stormy night with heavy fog and a thick overcast. I was tracking a Maru on radar and it was very nerve racking. Sneaking through the fog barely 1000 yrds from the Maru with only your radar for eyes is a cool experience. Unfortunately it was a bit ruined by the bright overcast hovering like a UFO over my head.

Thanks for fixing this in PE 2.0! Are you going to have a fog fix too? For some reason the fog works during the day but at night it isnt there at all. Thats why the stars are visible.

Another big question. Will PE 2.0 work with SHIV 1.4? I dont have the add-on yet.

Looking forward to PE 2.0. U da man!!
