I just bought this book through the subsim store and must say one of the best buys I have made in a long time.
Very in depth with lots of footnotes. More like a university textbook than an easy read history book. I'll write more when I have finished it but I recommend you get hold of it. |

Hi Xabba,
I agree with your assessment of this book. I wrote the review of it for this site (don't read it unless you want to be "spoiled!"), though I'll admit that it was such a heavy read that it took me nearly a month to finish it. I still think Shattered Sword is a better book, but that book was mostly from the Japanese perspective, while this one mostly takes a new look at the American side, which has been "set in stone" for a long time, so to speak. |
