Anyone have a charge effective radar ranges for escorts?
The horizon on the open ocean I think is 12nm. However, radar is mast mounted so that would extend detection quite a bit. Anyone have any tables or numbers? How much bearth do I need to give a convoy while I overhaul not to be picked up on radar? Thanks.

13.4989 n.m. sounds about right.
Then you must factor in the crew rateing and other things. |

I think you are 14 meters off on your calculations. :hmm::hmm::hmm:

Seriously, I am not asking for a chart down to the meter, but I was curiously what radar behaviors are out on the ocean. It's no different than knowing how far you can be spotted in particular weather conditions and trying to avoid getting too close. Or knowing how many RPM you can put on your screws before you are heard.
But if you want to poke fun of me. So, be it then. ![]()

Trial and error and getting a feel for it will be better and more immersive than number calculation.

Would it not be more beneficial to play the mod as close to realism as you can (which judging by your previous posts I get the impression you want to).
The Germans often knew little or anything about the technological advances the Allies were making until it was too late. The Kaleuns often learned by their mistakes (the lucky ones anyway.....most paid with their lives and those of their crew). It would appear your looking for the shortcuts to success. If all the parameters and allowances/tweaks were posted here it would have a detrimental effect/impact on a great number of GWX users who would rather play the game with that 'unknown variable' that always exists within the fog of war. ![]() |
