I am having problems with sounds being cut off before they end, like the oil slick explosions going through the explosion part and then being cut off abrubtly before it fades away. Is there any way to fix this?

Yes, part of the ROW and TM sound effects mods that I manually added myself. Some of the sounds I didnt like to much so I copied the ones I liked into my sound folder and overwrote the existing files.

I get the same problem with some sound in certain conditions. The cannon explotion sound ends too early so I added a few seconds of dead silent to the end of the wave file an it seems to help. Sounds that are cut short seem to happen when several sound are going on an the game engine can't handle it all.

I only have this problem with the ROW Sound Effects mod. The TM sound mods work fine. I'm also using some of TRMSteve's interior sound mods.

Hmm, maybe ill just enable the TM sound mod and leave it at that. Its just a huge immersion killer for me when a ship is exploding and while the noise is fading away the sound cuts out. Ill try to post back with results.
BTW, when a ship is on fire is there sound for the fire? When im in external camera and looking at the ship while its engulfed in flames and cant hear anything it ticks me off :p And while im ranting one more complaint: the K gun water splash seems to be getting replaced with the kgun water splash hyd sound. Its like the regular water splash is not used at all, only the hyd version. It doesnt matter whether im on the external camera above or below the water or on the hydrophone, its all the same sound. If you guys can help me out with any of these problems that would make my day. Thanks, Patrick |

I only get fire sounds when looking at an oil slick on fire, the ships burn silently.

I experienced this when I use the realistic sound travel and all-stock sounds. The effect is properly delayed coming back to me, but then cut short.
Maybe try it a few times with the option set either way and see if there is a difference. |

Im not using realistic sound travel time since it says in the game that it decreases performance, and despite my computer meeting all the recommended requirements to play the game, I fear I cant lose many more fps without losing playability. Ill try it though and see what the results are.

Ditto what Tusc said.
You can hear the fire if you get rally close with the external free camera. Even then it's not very loud. The explosions and screams are pretty loud, though.
