Default No greeting

Not that I am aware of or at least I have never gotten one. But then again my wife left me , and took the dog , my best friend is the one that my wife left me for , and all my friends liked him better anyway , so I know no one will be there for me . Just kidding I'm still Married , but No as far as I know its not a function in the game

Isn't it obvious the game was not finished when Ubi released it. Sorry Ubi had to.

American subs operated from what were considered forward bases. They didn't usually have crowds gathering and bands playing when they came and went. They were much more secretive about it than the Germans...or at least than the Das Boot version. Did the Germans really have crowds and bands? I don't know.

For the Germans large numbers of off-duty military personnel from all services, accompanied by flotilla officers and nurses, would be on hand to meet the returning crews, delivering mail, fruit and drinks to the men once they were mustered off deck.

I think in the US Navy you would just get greeted by some of the brass. Seems like there oughta be a band too though. A brass band?

I seem to recall that in Pearl the was a reception for the boats (including "Uncle Charlie"). Don't know about the other bases.

Not really a big deal where I am concerned. I think of this more as a "US Submarine Attack Simulator", and not so much as a "US Submarine Returns To Port" simulator.
