Default GWX glitch?? flak problems

so i was sailing a IXD2 in 1944 in the indan ocean

i spotted an aircraft and the aircraft spotted window popped up.
so i clicked "engage targets"
but instead of shooting with the AA guns, the deck gun was used and during this the window kept popping up. finally i got the AA guns to attack and the massage stopped.

Ah, we all suffer from that from time to time. If it really becomes a problem, try Viagra.:rotfl: :rotfl: Sorry couldn't help it.

Re your problem: The message popup is a stock problem that has been exasperated by GWX detection routines. Basically, the incoming planes keep dropping in & out of your AI crews visual detection arc, that's why the box keeps popping up. You can stop it by setting a default action for the various settings or, as you have found, the problem does sort itself out.

The flaks not firing is another stock problem, the only way to ensure the stations fire when you want them to is have fully flak trained crew in the flak stations. If they still do not fire, manually cycle through the flak stations and the AI will take over from there.

EDIT - KL you'll have to be quicker than that. LOL

Stock bug mate. Not related to GWX.

Cycling through the flak stations usually resolves it on the spot.

The deck gun you refer to is actually a 37mm flak gun.

nope, this is an IXD2 with a late war tower, no 37mm gun on my deck only the 105mm and they were attacking the plane with it.

Well mate, all I can tell you is that we changed NONE of the controllers that tie AA guns or deck guns to the game engine.

I've never experienced the wierdness you've described, but I am NOT saying that it didn't happen to you. Danlisa's favorite boat is the IXD2... maybe he's experienced the phenomenon you refer to.

However, cycling through the flak gun stations as mentioned above does indeed wake the sleeping flak gunners. That (stock SH3 bug) has been with us for a very long time indeed. A forum archive search will corroborate that matter for you if you wish.
