Default What a job?

Found this on U-Tube, A guy building Revells 1:72 scale type VII u-boat.

I dont understand what he is saying but it is giving me idea's!!

I have been thinking of getting one of these for a while but havent got the space for it once I have built it, and as for time well.... :rotfl:

Dont know if its been posted here before but I thought it was interesting as it shows how to apply weathering effects. Might be usefull for someone who is having a go at it.

part 1

part 2

I suppose I could always start it and come back to it now and then when ive got time :hmm: ah well good hunting!

The guy has some serious talent.. plus it helps it is his business/life, so he has all the time to spare. I've done a lot of modeling but never a U-boat.

Tool.

I had come across a Revell kit for a 1:50 scale U.S. Gato class sub in a hobby store in Delaware a while ago. I think it was up for sale at just over $100. Tempting, yet I had to pass. Once I get to the Pacific & SH4 someday, maybe I'll wish I had grabbed it.

wow, thanks for posting. that brings back memories, when my dad and I did those models together, then I moved on and did my own. we did a B-24, -25 and a -17 and he taught me how to put bullet holes in the fuselage. way cool. when I go back east I'll post up some pics, or if I get back into it. watching the video makes me want to do it. he's got some great ideas. I like how he weathered the paint and showed rust on the hull. great job.

Now if only he spoke English! I'm about 5% done with mine, but who's in a hurry!

It brought back memories for me too. I still have some of the models I made when I was 14, 15 or 16 years old. Mostly I made armoured vehicles and lots of them! ...Ive got a model of HMS Suffolk floating about round here somewhere...

I know its a bit off subject but heres a photo of the models I have left of that time when I was just a wee lad in short trousers!!

I reckon I am going to get my brushes out again sometime this year. A new years resolution me thinks!!
