coal ships?
Twice now, once in the North Sea and once in an estuary, I have come across a boat with beacons and all its interior lights ablaze - which is manned, because the estuary one obligingly shifted back when I came close to it - and then a fair distance from it, but parallel, another boat, sitting dark and motionless in the water.
In the North Sea I was told I was approaching a 'coal boat', which I assume is the dark one, and that the lightship is a marker to warn the rest of us to stay clear - but coal boat?? A dredger in the estuary I can understand ( my number one son used to operate the plant on one of them), but a COAL boat, sitting in the middle of the North Sea eh?? Is this the nautical equivalent of digging for victory?? I steered between the two and found no reason to regret it |

I sank one off the eastern coast between Scotland and England, I forget the exact location, but the Coal Ship was next to a Lightship that I couldnt target by locking, "L" button.

Unfortunately we have run out of ship designations
Type100=Replenishment Type101=Tanker Type102=Cargo Type103=Troop Transport Type104=Coastal Vessel Type105=Environmental The lightships were previously a type=100 In order to get the Cam ship\Collier and AMM ship to show in convoys on a random basis I had to redisignate the Lightships as 105s Enviromental The only drawback is the crew wont spot them so there is a danger of collision Another ship was placed close to the lightships so the crew will see something allowing you not to collide If extra type= could be added life would be so much easier But not found the answer to that yet |
