Default TM is turning off my external camera on "realistic" setting.

I would still like to use the external cam even on the highest setting levels.

I've checked the FAQ for TM, but i dont see any mention of this.

Ive gone into options and checked everyting except for "disable external camera", apply changes, then start a new TM campaign on "realistic" setting, go into game, go to bridge, select the free camera, and ...nothing.

I go back to options and note that the "disable external camera" is checked.

Can I stop that from happening?

You have to go into the mod and change a couple of things in the commands.cfg folder. Give me a second.

Edit: Make sure you are in port when you do this.

11.) How do i get the next/ previous camera back?

The easiest way is to open the /data/cfg/commands.cfg in tmaru. Search for " [Cmd50] " Your looking for these two blocks:

[Cmd50]
Name=Camera_on_next_unit
Ctxt=1
;Key0=0xBE,,">"
Page=0x34000000,3714

[Cmd51]
Name=Camera_on_prev_unit
Ctxt=1
;Key0=0xBC,,"<"
Page=0x34000000,3714

Simply remove the semicolon placed in front of the key assignment, and you have the next/previous cameras back.

That cure only works when you use the key commands < & > it will not replace the icons on the HUD.

I fixed the icons once but then had to change everything for 1.4 ... now I forgot what file(s) it were that I changed to get the HUD to display the right icons.

Can ya drop a hint Duci?

thanks for the response, you guys, but are we talking about the same thing?

Snuff, are you saying that the "free camera" icon on the hud isnt working now, because of the 1.4 changes? I didnt have this issue before adding TM.

Im a little confused.

TM removes that icon, the free camera, if you want it back refer to my first post.

The icon works on the stock 1.4 version.

The icon disappears from the HUD in the TM 1.7.x mod. (Ducimus took it out)

Changing the two lines of code that RDP posted will only allow the key commands to come back, the icons on the HUD are still gone.
