Default Stock SH3 problem in GWX 2.0?

I'm having a great time enjoying GWX 2.0, having just started my first 2.0 war patrol. I was transiting the English Channel and saw blinking lights in the distance. Using the external camera, I zoomed over and saw it was a light ship. Beyond it I could see several ships and the outline of the shore, so I zoomed over to it. I believe this to be Dover and what I saw, I'm not sure is an anomoly present in SH3 (haven't been to Dover before) or something that cropped up in GWX. Anybody else seen this?

When you go beyond a certain point in external camera, the land dissapears. I don't know the exact distance, but it's there since stock...

That would be a plausible explanation. The floating fortifications were east of the harbor and there were normally placed fortifications on a hillside west of the harbor. Part of the industrial buildings were on terra firma and some were in the water. There were some interesting naval assets in the harbor including what appeared to be a floating drydock.
