been reading the various threads about this and need help, a definitive answer if anyones got. was sitting up a river outside Narvik, misty as hell, took a guess and fired a spread unseen into the fog. Four impacts(unheard of for me as im still learning olc's mod).
I had hit the battleship(i forget which(Nelson/rodney)which sunk. I went on 2 knots and sheltered in her shadow from the destroyers, which had lost their marbles and were going beserk around me. I figured the pyrotechnics would contine for a while so i saved game hopng to return later when i had more time. Upon loading sh3 (and gwx2) i went to my saved games and there was nothing!!!! ![]() Sooooooo many tonnes gone! Why.What can i do to avoid this. The only mods are those that came with GWX2 and olc's manual targeting.(i do the mast height conversion in my head). Any advice 'cos i do feel the need to get out the sub from time to time...season of good cheer and all that... |

I can't give you a defintive answer, but did you save from the Nav Map screen. I think it's acknowledged that it's the only really safe place to save from. I understand you can lose the save if you save from other views - e.g. external camera, crew screen etc.

Make sure to always save your game when you at surface. This problem you have is a stock SH3 bug and it's not related to GWX v.2.0 or OLC mod. Try with this two solutions ( When I tried that, I made it, but it was long ago. Don't have this problem anymore because always save my game when I'm on surface)
Solution 1 Edit the Careers and Patrols files in folder \My Documents\SH3\data\cfg\Careers\yourCareerName. Make sure the last entries in all files have the following statements set to zero: OffDead=0 PODead=0 SeamenDead=0 Also make sure that the last entry's "Finished=" statement is set to "false". Solution 2 Go to the file that has your captains name that is giving you the problem. Rename it. Your files will be there. This solutions I found on this forum and have saved that solutions, try it and see if this may help to You. Good luck! |
