Spoilt by the vast array of media, perhaps your expectations have become too high
and specific to ever be met to your satisfaction.

Who are you trying to kid???:hmm: Christmas TV is everything the networks pulled off TV during the rest of year because it bombed, things they were shown 30 years ago and have eternal playback permission for, and the same junk from last christmas scraped from the bottom of the bin and shown again because they can.

Im intending to watch DVD's, go the the movies, play SH4 and SH3 with GWX 2.0, take my wife on some nice drives, pack up all the odds and ends reday for moving house in late January.

I may whatch a little TV, but it won't be that much!

It could be worse, we could be without:
  • Zulu
  • The Great Escape
  • Where Eagles Dare
  • Heroes of Telemark
  • The Two Ronnies
  • Only Fools and Horses (yes, the batman episode)
  • Some Mothers Do Ave Em
  • Laurel and Hardy (which makes a comeback around Christmas)
  • And yes, Pingu, which is on every Christmas morning as I excitedly eat my fattening sugary foods from my stocking.
Again, it could be worse. We could be watching TV in North Korea:
  • Venerable Leader Kim Jong-Il presents: A Christmas Carol
  • A production of 'Silent Night' by the North Korean Nuclear Research Committee
  • A Korean version of Tom and Jerry - condensed to 5 minutes due to subversive political views found later in the programme
:p

Indeed. I don't know how I would get through these holiday periods without SHIII. My return to the Atlantic after a 6 months absense is imminent. Bring forth GWX 2.0.

Man its true that the grass is greener on the other side of the fence.
I wonder in what state you would be after watching italian tv. :rotfl:
In my case I would gladly watch the BBC over the junk shows we have over here.

Yeah but what people outside of the UK don't realise is we are forced to pay for a rip-off TV licence to watch these repeats If we don't have one, we're breaking the law .. work that one out.

To be honest most countries implement a tv license.
Every european country does, maybe not as costly as the british one but its there.
In Italy we pay 110 € per year for the privilege of possessing a tv (doesn't matter if you actually watch the tv).
In France its over 120 € per year.

The only country that doesn't enforce a tv license is the USA.

Here in the UK if you have a recorder video or DVD and a black & white TV you still need a colour license as they record colour, BBC scum.

Well, in Italy there is a one fits all tv license, doesn't matter if its black and white or color tv.
You pay the same amount.
Same thing if you possess a recorder video (vhs) or even gasp mobile phone with the ability to recieve public airwaves broadcast.

Our law is in the standard of the italian way that is to say quite bizantine.
You have to pay a tv license not only on a tv, but on any device wich could potentially be modified to recieve tv airwaves.
Now could a law be so generalistic as to be useless ? :hmm:

Ah the joy of living in italy, for evey law there is a counter law. :rotfl:

Steed, you have no idea how fortunate you are to be living in a civilised country.
