TC above 1024 almost seems useless right now because I'm on patrol and I keep having signal contacts, forcing me to dive and surface every minute

the air can get quite annoying and unrealistic at times, as if you're surrounded by invisible carriers. i feel your pain.

Well known that the level of air contacts is insanely high. You get buzzed incessantly even in areas that were low priority or not patrolled at all.
A mod was made to address this somewhat. I think it's a product of wanting to appeal to the 'yippee shoot' community. IRL, if you're using your AA guns as a sub you've done something badly wrong. Neither Wahoo or Tang ever fired their AA guns at aircraft (well, strictly speaking, Tang did use hers on an aircraft....to sink a US seaplane on the surface during her epic air crew rescue mission!!), and I suspect that's the norm for US subs in WWII. SD radar, even as poorly represented as it is in the sim, should prevent you from being on the surface by the time a plane reaches you. Cheers |

One thing to keep in mind is that after you are spotted by a plane the first time, you will get a much higher level of air contacts for awhile as they direct more aircraft to your location.
