Default JSGME and Vista

Hello

I am having trouble adding mods. I have installed JSGME in the mods folder, downloaded mods, and activated them through JSGME, but they do not activate when I'm playing SH4. Any help out there as to what is going on??

Have you followed the steps in the readme:
Quote:
- MICROSOFT VISTA USERS: If you are running the Generic Mod Enabler on Vista and are having problems with mods "taking" (the usual symptom is that the MODS folder itself is not created when the Generic Mod Enabler is first run), then simply right-click JSGME.exe in Windows Explorer and select "Run as Administrator". Alternatively, right-click JSGME.exe and select "Properties". In the properties window select the "Compatibility" tab and check "Run this program in compatibility mode" and in the box below select "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)". In some instances you may need to apply both solutions.
If so, pls post back.

Also, prolly too late now, but you can avoid much Vista angst by installing *outside* of Program Files, say to C:\Games\ or F:\Games\.

Default JSGME

Okay, nothing is working. JSGME should be under MOD's folder? This is where mine is. I've done system administrator and everything. Still I see no mods. What gives? How do you install the mods manually?

I run Vista 32bit and have no probs at all with JSGME, I do have UAC turned off if that makes a difference. Can't think of any other reason, are you unpacking the zips into the MOD folder in SH4 directory? :hmm:

How do you disable UAC?

What I do is right click on the JSGME icon and I select on "Run as Administrator" if I am adding or removing mods. This allows JSGME to change files in the SH4 Folder.

If you want to turn UAC off go to ,Control Panel\User Accounts and Family Safety\User Accounts and there is a option to turn User Account Control off.

I also run every program as Administrator which allows me to run Vista flawlessly.
