Default Timers in compartment when damaged?

I have GWX 1.03 and was wondering what the timers mean in the compartments when damaged. There are 2 timers normally. But some damaged compartments don't have timers.

I dont remember exactly how they are represented, but IIRC the upper one tells you how much time you have before the compartment is entirely flooded, the bottom one tells you how long it takes you to fix the leak.

So, if you get the timer, that means there's a leak on that compartment.

Flood time against repair time is what it is.

And it's good to note: for example., if you have a flooding situation , and it's taking some time to get your repairs crew to patch the leaks, be sure to get any surplus crew from the more flooded end (stern or bows) to evacuate to the furthest & safest end earlier on in the repairs.
1) The shift of weight will help counteract just a bit with the heavy-ending of the flooding.
2) And especially, if you could imagine... the stranded surplus crew will tend to consume trapped cabin oxygen and then that's about it for them.

This trapped cabin situation seemed to have happened at one of my latest "up-scope jousting" attempts with a passing DD.

I note your reply with interest, and I am replying to point 1 - is this really modelled in the game or not?

Hi Goose,
Shifts of much of the crew to the bow in crash dives seems to be simulated to some effect, as it would for real. (Maybe a veteran GWX mod-teamer may actually be able to reveal if this is factored into the guts of the program?, if not so much, maybe it should!)

The trapping of crew beyond a flooding bulkhead is a recent & unfortunate SH3 experience of mine based on a recent Narvik channel patrol. It really takes the virtual crew moral down quick. But I learned something from it all.
