Default CTD Loading Game Save in GWX

All has been fine until now. I'm using GWX V1.03 and SH3 Commander 2.7. Earlier this evening I created a game save, on the surface, no ships had been sunk this time out. No changes of any kind made. Used the roll back function of SH3 Commander. When reloading the save later I continually get a CTD about 75% through the load. Any ideas? What might have changed?

WIN/XP SP2
AMD Athlon XP3000
1GB Memory

EDIT: Just want to point out that this occured during the 9th patrol of this career. No problems prior to this one.

Not sure, but I only roll back and re-apply SH3 Cmdr when in port.

Hope someone else comes along to sort your problem, otherwise you might need to go back to the previous save

I've been using the roll back feature every time I save and exit. I already tried the previous save but still got a ctd.

This may be a silly question, but presumably you reloaded SH3 with Commander which will re-apply your settings after a rollback? Otherwise you most probably will run into trouble of some sort. Other than that I cannot offer much I'm afraid, perhaps others may be able to provide a solution.

Hard to say what`s he reason but I`ve encountered similiar problems with SH31.4b, GWX 1.03 and Cmdr 2.7 ( and Vista, which doesn`t help actually ). Got several CTD while loading saved games with no particular reason or dependency apart from one interesting thing:
it seems that games saved while beeing in the control room are stable - none of them CTDed so far.

All my saves have been at the main map and while surfaced.

I ran into this yesterday myself. Not sure what happened. I know I was surfaced, as I had just wasted about 8 torpedos trying to sink a Large Cargo in bad weather! I saved and went to bed.
The next day (yesterday) I went to reload and 3 times in a row it would get to about 75% and then CDT on me also. Actually, it would go Black Screen and Windows would give me that Error message that SH3 had encountered a problem and needed to shut down.
After my third attempt, I shrugged and loaded up my patrol at an earlier point (I tend to save a lot, just in case of things like this). So downside is I lost that game.....

Up side was I had my torpedos back! :hmm:

I've not run into it again or before. "shrugging here" Guess it just burped.

I have corrected the problem, although I don't know exactly what caused it, maybe (probably) something I did. I had 5 saves on this patrol/mission. Loading #5 always caused a ctd. Loading #4 initially caused a ctd but then would reload after it deleted #5. Adding a new #5 save would start the process all over again. Loading save #3 caused no problems in any way, so save #4 was the culprit. At least I lost no tonnage. 30,000 thus far with 6 torps and 187 HE rounds left. Time to do some more damage!
